Unhealthy nutrition

The nutrition of the population has changed dramatically over the past few decades. Unhealthy, unbalanced diet is the cause of many serious diseases.

Malnutrition includes insufficient intake of vital substances, overeating, overweight, and obesity, as well as non-communicable diseases caused by malnutrition, such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, and some types of cancer.

This is mainly caused by a switch to high-calorie and fatty foods, eating out and increasing the portion size in combination with a lower intake of fruits, vegetables, and fiber-containing foods.

Healthy nutrition is becoming less affordable, especially in low-income countries, and people are increasingly choosing ultra-processed, unhealthy foods and diets that lead to disruptions in the body.
